C.S. Lewis started his preliminary work on his latest book, in 1939, this book was to become “the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” Also at this time, the 2nd World war had begun, and his home was to become a safe haven for evacuees. It was because of one of these young evacuees, who was playing around the back of a wardrobe that sparked his concept for the book. But alas, the book wasn’t finished until the late 40s, the reason remains unclear, probably the war. And published in 1950.
